Shri R S Raghavan completed his B.Sc. Engineering in Mining Engineering from NIT Rourkela in 1988. He began his career as a Sales Engineer at Ingersoll Rand, focusing on drills and mining equipment. He later moved to Bahwan Automotive Centre in Oman (1992), where he sold construction and mining equipment. In 1996, Sri. Raghavan joined Nordberg Singapore Pvt Ltd., as the country manager, where he successfully established their Indian operations, transforming a liaison office into a fully owned subsidiary with a turnover of 60 crores within five years. In 2001, he co-founded Proman Infrastructure Services Pvt Ltd with his late wife, Radhika, where he currently serves as the Managing Director, and has turned it into a Rs. 200 crore company. Shri Raghavan is known for his leadership qualities, including his ability to motivate and guide a skilled team of professionals, some of whom have been with him for over 20 years. He is also praised for his foresight in adopting advanced technologies to meet market demands and providing engineers with opportunities for R&D and conceptual development. Notable contributions include introducing VSI technology to India and developing innovative solutions for industries like Jindal Steel to recycle steel slag. Currently he is collaborating with Vedanta to recover minerals from red mud. He also pioneered the Plasma Arc DC furnace technology for recycling waste materials, contributing to both environmental sustainability and industrial efficiency. Apart from many awards and accolades, his name is also included in the Mining Hall of Fame, Department of Mining Engineering, NIT Rourkela.
